In this testimonial video clip Erdal Ziyan, Chairman of the Gölmarmara Chamber of Agriculture, and an organic farmer of grapes, explains about the benefits of cover cropping and of avoiding tillage in his vineyards to prevent the over-heating of the soil and to increase soil moisture. To deal with the grapevine moth risk he uses pheromone wire which avoids the need for the use of pesticides, while he also applies mineral dust to protect the grapes from sunburn. Furthermore, he shares his experience with the underground drip irrigation system as a most efficient and modern way to save on irrigation water. Erdal Ziyan is an active member of the Mara-Mediterra Living Lab in Marmara Lake, Turkey.
