The Mara-Mediterra Partnership invites you to follow this link to sign up to receive the project’s e-Newsletters. Each of the e-Newsletters will be issued in all of the various working languages in Mara-Mediterra’s hotspots of land and water degradation: Arabic, English, French, Greek and Turkish. Subscribers are therefore asked to tick in which of these languages they wish to prefer receiving the e-Newsletters.

The project’s First e-Newsletter informs about the hectic run-in to present Mara-Mediterra’s credentials. The presentation by the project’s coordinator, Dr. Vasileios Takavakoglou (SWRI) at a side event of the COP27 in November 2022, as well as the launch of Mara-Mediterra by Dr. Mustapha Adjadj (AMENHYD Team Leader) joined by four ministers in Algeria take the limelight.

It then brings a write-up on the consortium’s meeting up with Antonios Tirpintiris, an olive grower on the island of Lesvos during a field excursion on the occasion of the First Project Meeting in Greece.  Having proved himself as a highly successful business manager in Greece and in Romania, Antonios wished to give something back to the island where he grew up to young adulthood. The First e-Newsletter is being issued to coincide with the launch of an initial set of videos which bring testimonials of farmers who have been employing agro-ecological practices such as minimum tillage, green manuring, organic fertilization and mulching.
