PRIMA Project Officer Marco Orlando was upbeat in his address to the Mara-Mediterra Partnership on the occasion of the project’s kick-off meeting:
“The Mara-Mediterra Work Plan is clearly well aligned with the scope of the Water Theme of PRIMA Call that was issued in 2021, hence my expectations that the project will be successful in achieving its aims and ambitions are well founded too.”
Marco welcomed the fact that the case studies, together with their mirror-hotspots of land and water degradation cover several areas around the Mediterranean Basin. In particular, he welcomed the fact that the Kick-off meeting was already looking at how to pave the way for the sustainability of the project outcomes beyond the duration of the project itself.
Marco Orlando assured the Mara-Mediterra Project Coordinator, Dr. Vasileios Takavakoglou, that he would very much welcome to learn about any challenges as may arise in any given project that could possibly jeopardize the successful implementation of Mara-Mediterra so as to be in a position to contribute to seeking appropriate solutions to overcome such challenges.
Mara-Mediterra’s kick-off meeting was organized as a virtual event on 13 and 14 April 2022.
